Lorena Grajeda is an artist that uses acrylic on canvas as her medium to display her passion for art. Her focus is to capture a lesson, a feeling, and or knowledge of the subject matter through colors and brushstrokes. By using metallics to bring out the intensity of each color in her paintings, she hopes to draw in the viewer and evoke the thought of reflection. Her goal is to create visual artworks that are motivated by her experiences and cultures that surround her and have molded her into the person she is today. Painting ignites a passion, and she hopes to transfer that same passion onto the canvas and then on to the viewer. As an emerging artist, she found an interest in Mesoamerican glyphs, which inspired her to create works that brought her closer to her culture. She then went on to create works that make a statement reflecting women as a woman. Her works were part of San Jose State University’s Chicanx/Latinx Student Success Center 2019 Aqui Estamos Y No Nos Vamos Art Exhibit. She also participated at San Jose State University’s Gender Equity Center 2020 Virtual Art Gallery Exhibit, which focused on gender through cultural story-telling. Lorena currently works and lives in San Jose, California.
